Our Adult classes use Aiki-Jujitsu techniques that include Joint manipulations, locks, body strikes pressure points and throws.
You will learn to defend yourself against a wide range of attacks (Standing and Seated) to subdue or injure an attacker as quickly and effectively as possible. We don’t include a lot of ground holds as we don’t want to be holding someone only to find one of the attackers’ friends gets involved, so typically as soon as they hit the floor it’s game over for them.
To keep you safe while training we only train on mats.
We also teach Rolls Forward / Backward Roll Right Break-falls Forward, Backwards and to the side.
Our syllabus has been designed to cover a very wide range of attacks. we are keen to cover lots of different examples of techniques which allow the students to find what works for them.
To begin with, grading only happens every 3 to 4 months. We stress from the beginning we don’t give grades out and some students wait for 6 months to achieve a belt has to be earnt and is not just about showing up and paying.
