One of Japans oldest and most effective Martial Arts seen as sub-genre of Jujutsu developed and used by Samurai warriors with techniques being used on the battlefield they had to be quick and effective allowing the warrior to move onto there next target Aiki-Jujitsu first became widely known in the early 20th century after being taught by Takeda Sōkaku who traveled around Japan learning and fine tuning his art.
Different to Jujitsu which is more strange based Aiki-Jujitsu focuses on blending with the opponent and moving joint-locks. throwing, locking, immobilising and controlling the attacker to the ground. The Techniques are skill based rather then raw power this is one of reasons its a art for everyone.
Aiki-Jujitsu techniques are also learnt and practiced on with another person apart from the use of the Katana which is taught as a Kata for safety
Aiki-Jujitsu and jujitsu are Forerunners to
Aikido, Judo, Kendo, BJJ and MMA which were all developed by taking aspects of Aiki-Jujitsu after the fall of the samurai class.
